Sunshine Coast Physiotherapy & Psychotherapy
Where body and brain meet for meaningful change.
Pain is not just a physical experience.
It is a protective multi-system response shaped by your brain, body, biology, and past experiences working together to protect you, sometimes more than you need.
Synchrony is an integrative health practice that brings together physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and contemporary neuroscience to support people experiencing persistent pain, stress-related physical symptoms, and movement habits or protective patterns that aren't working well for your body anymore.
Rather than treating the body in isolation, we look at how your nervous system, immune and hormonal systems, life experiences, emotions, and movement patterns interact. When body and brain are addressed together, lasting change becomes possible.

How it works
01. Understand
Every injury or symptom has a story. We begin with a detailed assessment that looks at the many variables influencing how your body feels and functions; including movement and biomechanics, medical history, previous injuries, sleep, stress, hormones, exercise habits, lifestyle load, nervous system involvement, and emotional well-being. We also consider how these factors interact across your day-to-day life. You’ll gain a clear, evidence-based understanding of what’s contributing to your symptoms and what’s most important moving forward.
This is where your plan starts.
02. Restore
Whether you’re managing a new injury, a flare-up, or something that has been present for a while, we focus on restoring what matters most; comfort, clarity, and confidence in how your body works. Using integrated physiotherapy and psychotherapy-informed principles, we address the key variables influencing your recovery. This may involve improving mobility, reducing irritation, settling over-protective patterns, or building strength and coordination. You’ll learn clear, practical strategies you can use immediately to feel better and participate actively in your progress.
This is where change begins to happen.
03. Rebuild
As your body adapts and your overall capacity improves across physical, mental, and lifestyle factors, we strengthen the foundations that support long-term improvement. This includes improved load tolerance, steadier day-to-day capacity, sustainable routines, and personalised self-management strategies that keep you in control of your progress. This phase is guided by your goals — returning to activities you enjoy, reducing future setbacks, or simply feeling good in everyday life. You’ll complete care with a clear, personalised plan to support continued progress.
This is where you return to what matters.
Welcome to our Sunshine Coast practice
Hi, I’m Gillian – physiotherapist, psychotherapist and founder of Synchrony in Buderim.
My work brings together the science of the body and the insight of the mind to help people understand their pain, regulate their nervous system, and rebuild trust in their movement.
Care with me is collaborative and conversational. I don’t see pain as something “broken” that needs fixing — but as information. When we understand what your body and brain are trying to protect you from, you can move forward with more clarity, confidence and ease.
